The 6" x 1-1/2" Diamond Nova Resin Soft Grinding Wheel is a premium flexible lapidary cabbing wheel engineered for smooth pre-polishing, fine contour smoothing, and rapid scratch elimination on gemstones, mineral slabs, and fine glassware. Featuring high-grade synthetic diamond uniformly dispersed within a resilient, soft-density resin matrix bonded to a durable polymer core, this wheel provides gentle, forgiving cushioning that conforms to cabochon curves while preventing flat spots and chipping.
Key Features
- Resilient Resin-Bond Cushioning: Soft flexible matrix absorbs contact shock, conforms to curved cabochon crowns, and eliminates flat spots and micro-facets.
- Uniform Diamond Distribution: Monocrystalline diamond particles are evenly distributed throughout the resin layer, exposing fresh abrasive as the wheel wears for consistent cutting action.
- Scratch-Free Pre-Polish & Polish: Rapidly removes scratches left by coarse sintered or electroplated hard wheels, transitioning stones seamlessly from shaping to mirror finish.
- Universal 1" Arbor with Reducer Bushings: Precision 1-inch core includes standard bushings to fit 3/4", 5/8", and 1/2" lapidary machine shafts.
- Extensive Grit Range: Available from 60 grit for fast smoothing up to 50,000 grit for ultimate optical-grade pre-polishing and final luster.
Applications
- Lapidary Cabbing & Carving: Smoothing domes, blending shoulders, and pre-polishing agate, jasper, quartz, turquoise, opal, and jade.
- Glass Cold Working: Blending ground edges, smoothing fire-polished edges, and polishing studio art glass and optical components.
- Mineral & Fossil Specimen Finishing: Polishing curved surfaces of ammonites, petrified wood, and tumbled specimen faces.

Operating Guidelines
- Always operate with continuous, adequate water spray to lubricate the wheel face, flush mineral debris, and prevent heat buildup in the resin bond.
- Apply light to gentle hand pressure; allowing the diamond resin matrix to cut freely maximizes wheel life and ensures a flawless finish.
- Avoid sharp edges, rough points, or digging corners of stones into the wheel to prevent gouging the flexible resin face.
