The 8" x 2" 360 Grit Diamond Hard Flat Grinding Wheel combines an extra-wide 2-inch grinding face with a solid seamless steel body and precision electroplated diamond abrasive. Engineered for micro-scratch smoothing, facet pre-forming, and clean edge finishing on gemstones, rocks, glass, ceramics, and porcelain. Provides true concentric rotation and vibration-free grinding on standard 8" cabbing machines.
Key Features
- Solid Seamless Steel Core: Heavy-duty steel body ensures true-running concentricity, prevents chatter, and eliminates wheel vibration under load.
- Extra-Wide 2-Inch Face: Provides 33% more surface area than 1.5" wheels, accommodating larger workpieces and extending wheel life.
- Precision Electroplated Diamond Rim: Uniform 360-grit diamond plating delivers fine pre-polish finishing, establishing an ultra-smooth base for resin laps and soft wheels.
- Universal 1" Arbor: Standard 1-inch inner bore fits standard 8" lapidary cabbing machines (compatible with 3/4", 5/8", and 1/2" reducer bushings).
Applications
- Lapidary & Gemstones: Fine pre-polishing and facet pre-forming of agate, jasper, quartz, jade, and petrified wood cabochons and slabs.
- Glass Cold Working: Ultra-fine edge smoothing, satin pre-polish finishing, and scratch removal on architectural art glass and thick crystal slabs.
- Ceramic & Porcelain: Precision smoothing and micro-finishing on technical ceramics, porcelain tiles, and mineral specimens.
Technical Specifications
