Overview: The 8" x 3" (639mm x 76mm) Flexible Diamond Sanding Belt is manufactured for large 8" diameter x 3" wide expanding rubber drums commonly run on heavy-duty lapidary cabbing machines, gemstone production arbors, and glass edging lathes. Precision electroplated industrial diamonds firmly anchored to a tear-resistant waterproof backing deliver high-speed material removal, broad surface contact, and uniform wet pre-polishing across extra-hard mineral slabs and thick optical glass.
Key Features
- Fits 8" x 3" Expanding Drums: True 639mm length (approx. 25.13" circumference) expands securely onto standard 8" x 3" rubber wheels at operational RPM.
- Comprehensive Grit Selection: Available in Dot and Arrow patterns from coarse 60 Grit calibration down to 1800 Grit fine smoothing.
- Reinforced Waterproof Backing: Designed to withstand heavy work pressure, continuous water baths, and lateral edge forces without delaminating.
- Chatter-Free Precision Joint: Seamless butt splice guarantees smooth, non-marking rotation and eliminates vibration during delicate contouring.
Applications
- Large gemstone cabochon roughing, dome shaping, and agate slab edge leveling
- Architectural glass cold-working, thick table rim beveling, and art glass smoothing
- Engineered stone countertop profiling and porcelain tile edge blending
- Thermal spray coating removal, turbine blade finishing, and aerospace alloy deburring
Operating Guidelines
- Coolant: Always operate with continuous water coolant to keep diamond cool, flush away slurry, and maintain cutting speed.
- Drum Mount: Mount onto stationary 8" x 3" expanding drum; centrifugal force locks the belt firmly when the arbor rotates.
- Speed: Recommended operating speed 900 to 1,500 RPM on 8" arbor setups.
